Open To: All artists are eligible to enter except for members of the Mini Masterpieces committee. Members of Gallery 12 may enter the show but are ineligible to receive awards except for People's Choice.
Artwork Requirements: Two and/or three-dimensional original painting, printmaking, photography, and mixed media. Completed entry (including frame) must be 144" square inches or less. Work may also be gallery-wrapped with painted edges. All works must have a wire hanger on the back (no sawtooth or French cleats, please). Inappropriate work will be rejected. Printmaking: original prints only, created and pulled by the artist’s hand. Copies of works by other artists will be disqualified. All work must be your design and execution.
Entries: Artists may enter up to three artworks. None may have been exhibited previously at Gallery 12. The entry fee will be $35.00 per artist and is nonrefundable. High-definition digital file of original artwork (300 dpi), waiver, and entry form must be submitted to info@wichitagallery12.com by June 1.
3D Work: All 3-dimensional work must either meet the same criteria for other wall-hung work, or if free-standing, must fit within a 12 x 12 x 12 inch cube.
Notification: Artists will be notified through email by June 15 if their work is accepted. Selected work shall be delivered on Thursday, June 25 through Saturday, June 27. Work delivered after the deadline will not be exhibited. Judging will occur after the exhibit has been installed.
Juror: The juror for this show is Marie Bukowski, Dean of the College of Fine Arts at Wichita State University. She is an internationally recognized printmaker, included in public collections and museums in countries such as Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, The Czech Republic, Mexico, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain.
Awards: 1st place, $500. 2nd place, $300. 3rd place, $200. Honorable mention, $50. People's Choice $75. Awards will be announced at the opening reception.
Opening Reception: Exhibit Opening will be July 3 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. and will be on display until August 1. Cash awards will be announced and given during the opening reception at 7:00pm It will also be announced on social media. There will be a closing reception on Friday, July 31 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Pricing: All work accepted in the exhibition must be for sale. Artists are responsible for pricing and including the commission in the sale price stated on the entry form. Gallery 12 will receive 35% of each sale, and artists receive 65%.
Liability and Responsibilities: Artists retain the liability for accepted artwork. Gallery 12 assumes no liability for artwork during housing or transit.
Delivery and Return of Artwork: Artwork shall be delivered to the gallery on June 25 through June 27 during regular gallery hours of 10 am to 4 pm and shall be picked up beginning August 5. Art may be hand-delivered or shipped. Shipped entries must be received by Saturday, June 27. Shipping fees and insurance are the responsibility of the artist. Reusable shipping material and prepaid return shipping labels are required (no packing peanuts). Unclaimed artwork not picked up within 30 days of exhibit closing will be disposed of in any way that seems fit by the gallery without liability.
