Carolyn Denver is an award-winning artist living in Wichita, Kansas, and has been drawing and painting since childhood. She earned a B.F.A. in studio arts from Wichita State University where she graduated Magna cum Laude, with emphasis in painting and art history.
Although Carolyn enjoys working in several mediums, including watercolor, pastel and printmaking, oil painting remains her passion. She particularly enjoys plein air (outdoor, on-site) painting. She is currently represented by Gallery XII in Wichita.
“Resolving the complications of fleeting light and shadow, color effects and atmospheric mood is a continuous learning process with infinite possibilities.” Carolyn believes there is a need in every human being to relate to the natural environment. People are drawn to the permanent, enduring quality found in nature and the landscape.
It has been said that “the confluence of the tangible and the spiritual is where Art comes from.” “It is my goal that an element of the spiritual be communicated through my work.”
